Women’s Ministries

We want to encourage women both inside and outside of Croydon SDA to build a strong relationship with Christ and each other through fellowships, Bible studies, outreach programmes, support groups and service projects.

We believe it’s important for us to play an active role in sharing the gospel, by building friendships with non-Adventist women from the local community.  We also want to develop the relationship between women in the church, though discussion groups and fellowshipping together. Our key ministries are listed as links to the left of this page. We welcome you to check them out and feel free to attend and/or serve within any of them.

A Ministry For Every Woman:  Touch a Heart, Tell The World

There are three areas of focus when it comes to equipping, training, and inspiring women to serve: Nurture, Empower, and Outreach.

  1. NURTURE: Reach up – To help women in their devotional time and personal growth, enabling them to be nurturers in the church and community.
  2. EMPOWER: Reach across – To equip women for their activities and projects for the church and community.
  3. OUTREACH: Reach out - To help women use small group fellowship to reach others in their community.

We want to encourage each other to fulfil our potential, so if you have a suggestion for a seminar topic or would like to lead a seminar please contact the Women’s Ministries department at: women@croydonsda.org.

Keep an eye out for the following seminars coming up throughout 2011:

  • Time Management
  • Learning How to Preach
  • Mentorship and Mentoring
  • Recreation for Christian Women
  • Psychological and Spiritual Health
  • Building Self Esteem
  • How to be a successful woman

The InReach Plan

Our aim is to develop relationships between women in Croydon Church and this includes:

  • Assisting each other with any identifiable needs, be they economical, financial or emotional
  • Celebrating births, marriages, and birthdays, whilst offering prayers and thanks for our children
  • Devotional writing events to help women express themselves in praising God, in testifying and in inspiring other women
  • Visiting members affected by sickness and bereavement, and supporting each other at times of hardship.

We currently have an ongoing project to recognise the good work done by women of all ages in the Church. We are also working together with the Youth Department, and encouraging our young ladies to participate in workshops, retreats, and evangelism.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

  • Several ladies have started knitting and crocheting items to donate to the elderly in local nursing homes. We are appealing to many more women to join us in the knitting of knee rugs, scarfs, hats and gloves.
  • We would like to send a card to each affected person as long as we are made aware.
  • Visitation to the sick and bereaved.

If you would like to get involved with any of the above projects, please contact the Women’s Ministries department at: women@croydonsda.org.
